What will you learn on this assertiveness training course?

This course concentrates on developing the knowledge and skills required to project a positive and self-assured image and how to use assertiveness to build rapport and gain co-operation. The course also concentrates on developing self-awareness for a more fulfilling life, both in the workplace (to build your profile), and at home.

The objectives for this course are to:

  • Build confidence and self-esteem
  • Understand assertiveness and your rights
  • Learn how to recognise your own and others different behavioural styles
  • Build confidence and self-assurance as a ‘way of being’
  • Know how to make and refuse requests effectively and with courtesy

  • What is self esteem
  • What is low-self-esteem and how to overcome it
  • Identify how you feel about yourself
  • Mechanisms for raising and maintaining self-worth

Assertiveness & Behavioural Styles

  • Clarify the difference between aggressive, assertive and passive behaviour
  • Recognise the effects of each type on self and others
  • Gain tips towards assertiveness
  • Learn how to recognise different behavioural styles
  • Identify your own behavioural style
  • Identify others’ behavioural style

Confidence & Building Your Profile

  • Confidence
  • How to create a good first impression
  • Influencing Skills & Credibility
  • Build your profile and have a good level of self-awareness

Making & Refusing Requests

  • Know how to make and refuse requests effectively and with courtesy
  • How to make requests without fear
  • How to say ‘no’ effectively
