Who is the Level 3 Emergency Paediatric First Aid training course suitable for?

This course is ideal for anyone who is caring for infants and children such as parents, guardians or grandparents. The course equips individuals with the skills required for handling child emergencies such as choking or minor injuries and is tailored to meet the requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).

If you work in an Early Years setting such as a nursery or school, we would recommend that you attend the two-day Paediatric First Aid course as it is Ofsted recognised.

Level 3 Emergency Paediatric First Aid Course Content:

  • The roles and Responsibilities of a Paediatric First Aider

  • Assessing and emergency situation

  • Dealing with an unresponsive infant or child

  • Recovery position

  • CPR and AED

  • Choking

  • Minor injuries

  • Bites and stings

  • Seizures

  • External bleeding

  • Hypovolemic shock

Certification and Assessment

In order to become a competent Paediatric First Aider, a variety of teaching methods will be used. Videos, examples, and real-life scenarios are included in the course. Towards the end of this course, there will be a multiple choice exam.

A certificate for being a responsible Paediatric First Aider will be issued to each delegates who successfully completes this course. The First Aid Industry Body (FAIB) measures and accredits certificates for three years.
